  • The summit climb is challenging but doable for most people with a good level of fitness.

The 13-day ABC trek takes you through some of the most popular Annapurna base camp trek routes. I contacted Mr. MINGMAR TAMANG from the Northern Trekking Team to be my guide and to arrange the Island Peak climbing portion and I am so glad I did that. I went to Nepal this November 2019, for the island peak climb, kongma la pass, and the ebc trek.

What’s included in the Everest base camp trek cost?

We will hike around Dingboche to help our bodies adjust to Gokong the altitude. Today is a much-needed rest and acclimatization day. We will be starting at an altitude of 3,857 meters (12,654 feet) and will be ending at an altitude of 4,400 meters (14,435 feet).

What do you need to obtain A Nepal visa?

You can expect a wide range of weather conditions when trekking to Annapurna Base Camp. The trek has come to an end, but the memories will last a lifetime. The trek takes 6-7 hours and is relatively easy, with a few uphill sections. The tenth day of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek takes you to Jhinu Dada, a village situated at an altitude of 1,565 meters (5,134 feet). The next day, you will trek to Himalaya (2,920m) or Deurali (3,230m).
And for the remaining trekking part,i.e., kongma la and ebc, he made sure to book the best lodges at the best prices always and was super responsive to my queries and problems. He completely organized my island peak climb and it went very very smoothly, he also accompanied me to the summit on my special request. The load carried by our porter minimum of 20 to 25 KG maximum so be sure that your trekking bag is not more than the above figure. Since you are trekking in the geographically as well as climate-wise most difficult part of the world, it is natural that flights get cancelled. While on the trek you will be on full board all 3 times meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, with Tea/Coffee) included in the package. If you are just looking for an expedition with less technical climbing than Island Peak, then we would recommend Mera Peak.

While you’re in Kathmandu, your accommodation is at a standard hotel (Arrival time and departure time). Along the way, trekkers will pass through lush forests, terraced fields, and past glistening glaciers and snow-capped peaks. Annapurna Base Camp is located at an altitude of 4,130 meters (13,550 feet) above sea level. If you’re looking to get some experience in the mountains before attempting the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, there are a few other great options in the Pokhara area. It’s all freshly prepared at each meal, so you won’t get bored with the same dish every day.
As long as you’re prepared, climbing Island Peak should be relatively straightforward. Spring is also a good time to climb because the snow has melted enough to make the ascent easier, but not so much that the trail is muddy. The best time to climb Island Peak is during the spring or fall. Then, it’s off to Base Camp, where you’ll spend a few more days acclimatizing and preparing for the summit push.

Island Peak Climbing Highlights

What’s more important was the price for our trip to EBC and Island Peak was far cheaper than other companies. This company served us with the best accommodation, the best tea houses, the best food, and of course the very best guide, Mingmar himself. And when our trip began, the rest is very satisfying.

Proper gear and equipment are essential for a successful and safe climb of Island Peak (6,189m / 20,300 ft). To prevent altitude sickness, it’s important to acclimatize properly, hydrate well and avoid overexertion. Common altitude sickness symptoms include headache, fatigue, nausea, and difficulty sleeping.
However, there are a few other options for those looking for a different experience. Plus, you’ll see the stunning Nepal countryside in all its autumnal or springtime glory. September through November and March through April are the best times for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. It is also important to factor in the cost of your flights to and from Nepal, Accommodation, food, guide, and porter, as well as any gear you may need to rent or purchase. Generally speaking, it is more expensive to trek during the high season (March-May and September-November) and prices will be lower during the shoulder seasons (December-February and June-August).
